Try to make all right hand turns. Only make a left hand turn when needed. UPS has started doing this and it is saving them huge in gas usage. The reason is you sit longer trying to turn left because you have to wait longer for traffic to clear in both directions so you can procede on to your destination.

UPS has some pricey routin software to aid them in actually getting where they want to go making all right hand turns.

I am shifting to a higher gear than is normally need, I shift to 5th gear at about 35. Seems to be yielding good results in my eta. I got 295 miles on my last tank of gas with a dragging caliper that I need to fix (ALOT of resistance).

Damn! That must be a boat anchor of a dragging effect on your eta, or you do nothing but stop-n-go driving on surface streets. I just did some calulations from my mileage/fuel log book for work. For the month of June 2008 I averaged 25.56 mpg and 354.2 miles per tank. When its time to visit the petrol station the average amount purchased is ~14 gallons (16.5 gal tank capacity).

The car: 1991 325i, bone stock M20B25, 3.73LSD, 225/50 tires on 15x7 wheels and 199,6xx miles on the clock.

i dont know about you guys but im geting 24-26 mpg out of my 91 m20 with a auto trans. Or around 300-340 a tank. 80% highway.

I rebuilt the head and polished all the ports, valves, pistons and put all new gaskets, hoses, and everything on the front of the motor. Oh and i drive like a grandma most of the time

the automatic with a locking tq convertor will actually get excellet hwy mileage because the overdrive gear is .73 vs .81 on the manual. a 3.73 would help even more but the auto is a dog as it is..

I thought I was doing pretty bad but I guess not..I got from my '92 m20 356 miles from a tank. Most of my drive is highway around 70 - 75 mph.
I just got the oil changed to synthetic.

Yeah, unless it is all freeway miles, 250 is good for either me or my wife.

I wonder if something is wrong? Her car just fucking purrs, all 100% stock.
