    How Rare is This?

So I came across this shift knob today. Leather wrapped, good condition with a metal logo insert. I cleaned it up a bit. Looks good. This may look familiar to you, as there is a member here making this emblem for hood roundels. You may think this is something he did, but I can assure you the shifter is older than this forum is. So I highly doubt it. Here we go...

I spoke to two walking BMW encyclopedia's today, and they were both amazed. They have never seen such a knob in person.

    Discuss.

That would be a 70s vintage BMW Motorsport badge. An officially licensed item that was produced outside the factory. I did a quick Google on it and found this.....

yeah, but that says they are fuel tank emblems for airheads. totally different (don't mean to sound like a dick btw). i have a feeling this is worth more than $20.

Not sure. I think they were produced in the late 70's. I could be wrong.

A box of CrackerJacks? It's worth whatever you want it to be worth because no one else is selling one.

Never seen one - in person, or a picture - ever. I call that pretty rare.

I love it and hate it at the same time. It's nice, but i am not a fan of the color scheme. So I am going to sell it.

I'll get a post up in the F/S section soon.

I'd place it into a BMW Collectors Case with other nifty items.

nice collection. i have been wanting to do that for awhile now. but i will not start until the day after i get an E30 M3. if that ever happens. my wife is cool with it, which is what is awesome. but funds, as usual, aren't quite available.

Then you should start that collection now with that rare a hens teeth shift knob. You don't even have to go buy anything.

As far as value... I think you'd be hard pressed to get more than $30 out of it.
