    Finishing up stuff... need help!

Alright, so I am in the final stages of my conversion.

First off, the pedal assembly. Does that big clutch spring just slide into place on that notched bracket as pictured? And is the clutch pedal supposed to sit so far away from the red switch? The pedal seems to be in the right place, as it sits at the same level as the brake pedal does, maybe the bracket is just bent.

And when I push the clutch pedal in, the spring pivots and the pedal doesn't return. I figure this is because the master cylinder is not pressurized - is this correct?

On the starter motor, does the positive (red) lead go on the left side or the right (looking from the front of the car). I can't figure that one out. This picture is obviously taken from the driver's side fender. As you can see I have the red wire resting on the left side, but before I install the nuts I want to make sure.

with my 928, if i have no pressure in the clutch cylinder, the pedal will flop to the floor and never return back. I assume its that way on other 5spd cars.

That's what happened when the master cylinder went in my 325. Sucked to the floor, I had to drive it home clutchless, except for starts and stops.

TJ, went and looked at mine and both the big black wire AND the red go to the right side if looking from the front of the car. Don't know why. There is a third smaller black wire that goes to the left post. Hope this helps. The big black one went on the bottom and the red one overlaid it on my starter.

That's weird. There are 4 posts and 4 wires. 2 black small ones, 1 black big one, and 1 red big one. There are 2 small posts on the top and the bottom, I attached the small wires to those. I am really confused now.

I really don't know what the point of that spring is. Mine randomly broke and fell out over a year ago. I can't even tell the difference.

TJ On the starter both the Large Black Wire and the Large guage red wire from the Engine harness go to that same right side post. The small black wire coming off the starter goes to the Post that is under neath and to the left of that large post, it has a smaller nut on it.

Yep Right as in Right from front, I just got a 325i starter in the mail last night so I verified the wiring. a lot of cars have a spade conector for that smaller black connector which makes it easier to find where it goes but 88 and newer got the Bolt down.
