How HOT is your heat?

Mine feels like a cold summer breeze.... it blows at like 60 degrees.

hot enough that i can keep my windows down, which is good cause i hate being shut in a heated car. just awful

my favorite thing on an ice cold day is driving around with the windows down, sunroof open, and heater on full blast.

yeah everyones heat is to hot to touch when you live down south.... but when you live up north and its below -20 the heaters suck. all that freezing air its trying to heat, the heater core doesn't do a very good job.

mine gets hot enough but in 14 degree weather driving on the highway it didn't get all that hot... lol it's an m42 so i don't expect much out of it.

I don't have heat in my E30. So, not very. My Volvo is mildly hot on full blast, but I'm sure the coolant is nearly a decade old..and against my better judgement, my procrastination towards doing any maintenance has led me to a sort of triumphant laziness and satisfaction in the manufacturing of my car. Works for me. Heated seats are a godsend too, NJ is cold now :(

Thinking about making my own heater box for the E30 though!

My heater sucks. times like 5 minutes or more to warm up and never gets real hot any when i stop at a light its cold again. Theres something up with my cooling system i know there is air in it and i've tried bleeding it with no luck. Every time i drive somewhere i crack the bleeder and let more air out and every single time more air comes out over and over. I don't know what to do i've gave up and just going to do head gasket next spring when i can get my daily out of storage.

It's always been able to cook my feet in my boots on cold mornings on the way to AutoX. It wasn't terribly hot the last time it got below freezing, though. Still warm enough to run around with the windows down and the sunroof open! I get so many dirty looks.

I never turn on the heat even if its 5*F outside...gotta conserve that gasoline! :giggle:
But I think the one or two times I did I couldn't find a medium between too hot or too cold.

I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish, but running the heater has absolutely nothing to do with fuel consumption. Go cuddle up with heater box boy.

...I don't know whether you're trolling or that you don't realize that the heat is run off the cooling system which is ALREADY HOT, and that running heat has a negligible difference upon fuel economy except in extreme low temperatures where the engine has insufficient thermal output to bring even itself to operating temperature.

I changed out my heater core so yes I know that it's runs with the coolant lines.

mine would burn my hand if i left it in front if the vent
