So maybe I should have replaced the guibo the PO was planning on doing when I bought the car.....

    Shit.

Ryan, how much for the driveshaft? (How much did you pay, that is)

I think it was just under 4. Like 380 or something like that.

You know, hard to remember. Its only money. :? Did the SSK at the same time. First mod ever to the car.

when i had bmw replace my driveshaft it was 800 with labor any everything, driveshaft was like $380 new... They said it would be more expensive and time consuming to rebuilt the current one then replace it with a new one...

From what I hear there is a good chance that the problem is the CSB and not the u-joints. I am going to inspect mine even though its new. I think it might have shifted some.

Good luck. THat is what mine was diagnosed as first and it ended up not being it. When I took it down to the mechanic who is doing the swap he acted like he couldnt believe it was diagnosed as the CSB.

Well, I reinstalled my CSB without the dust gaurds, which also act as spacers. I think it might have shifted on the drive shaft.

Mine did it under load. When I was accelerating. It was worst when I was accelerating form a stop around turns. If I let off the throttle it all but dissapeared and as I approached 25mph it faded until I became undiscernable above 25.
Mine was exactly as you described here... I had an extra drive-shaft and one afternoon decided to change it and it fixed the problem for me.
