    Bunch of questions...exhaust, valves, suspension

    1. Suspension: I just recently ordered and had installed Bilstein Sports, H&R springs, Susp. Tech. Sways, and new mountas and reinforcements up the azz. The car handles amazingly, but when I picked it up , I only pushed down on the hood to feel the difference. Today, I pushed down on the trunk...and it was very noticeably less firm than the front. Is this normal?

    2. Valves: My idles sounds like crap, tach says it's ok, and is a little shaky on startup and at normal idle. Valve adjustement fix?

    3. Exhaust: (I was thinking this could be part of the shaky idle and nasty idle sounds) I need a new exhaust. I have a new muffler, but I need everything from the motor back, and would like a resonator in there this time. Where can I go to get a brand new motor-back exhaust with a resonator...what are my most cost-effective options? Custom?

Thansk in advance for any replies!

a rough idle (with a steady tach) has nothing to do with the valves... but it could be many things, vacuum leak, FPR, fuel filters, injectors, plug wires.. I have the same "problem" and haven't managed to nail it down yet, although by fixing my vacuum leaks and doing some basic tune up work I've managed to tone it down quite a bit. I'm planning a fairly major tune up in the next few weeks so hopefully I can finally get rid of that issue.

I'm sorry I thought I said what they were...*EDIT: I did say what suspension I was running....just so ya know.*

Bilstein Sport Shocks and H&R Springs.

I distinctly remember my old E36's suspension being setup about the same way but I don't really trust the know-how of the mechanics I brought the car to this time...and was just checking.

          Thanks

Thanks man, I figured it was ok, but couldn't be sure. No one in Buffalo knows anything about E30's, so I'm all alone here....except for one kid (that I know of).

I guess I'll have to adjust the valves then soon. There's also a hesitation....like when I punch the gas, there's a slight delay before the motor fevs....sort of like it's choking for a second. Will the valve adjustment take care of that you think?

                    No.
How about giving him an answer WHY along with the no, TJ? And maybe explain to him what could fix it?

I don't know what it is about you lately, but your replies in almost every post are getting more sarcastic and less helpful.

you expect an AFM/Motronic Equipped motor to rev the second you blip the butterfly?

                      aint gunna happen

There is always a hesitation on AFM'd cars....

no, it isn't with the M30 AFM. I still can't figure out how to swap the electronics...havent had enough time to sit down with it and figure it out.
Sorry about the delayed post....I've been working like a maniac. So there's always a hesitation after you hit the gas pedal?? I thought maybe something was wrong, so I ordered a bunch of replacement parts (O2 sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors soon) just to make sure. Ah well, it can't hurt. Why is it that there is such a hesitation. Can I do an ECU upgrade?

an ECU "upgrade" won't do anything. all Motronic 1.3 ECUs are pretty much the same.

replacing all those parts might help though (fuel pump and filters is one thing I haven't done yet).

alright, you guys seem to know aq lot, and I don't wantr to start a new thread and get yelled at.....

So how much would a used M50 motor & tranny with everything needed along with installation cost me.....roughly.
