Does anybody actually know what colour the o2 sensor wire is? It's not in the shop manual, I know its pin 24.

A narrow band (ie OE) sensor is essentially worthless for diagnostic purposes. A wide band system will yield useful data, but would be much more expensive than a dyno pull, which will tell you just as much.

    Yes, actually I am. Because

    1. I need to fill the hole in my dash with something flashy that isn't a OBC that I have to punch every 5 minutes
    2. I need to figure out why my car is running so shit with a rough estimate.

So anybody know which colour the wire is?

Are you really using a narrowband O2 signal for a gauge? Hook the gauge to the preout on your headunit, looks much cooler and its just as useful.

    I'm kicking this crap up!

Does anybody know what colour the o2 sensor wire is on the ecu. It's pin 24, but I can't read that for crap, I don't want to find the wrong pin. Oh and its the 2.7e

you should expect your motor to hesitate when it's cold. let it warm up before you put the pedal to the metal, the M20 has more than enough torque to take off without revving over ~2200rpm.

most AF gauges are inaccurate to the point of being useless. Unless you buy or make a true wideband sensor and gauge.

started a topic Air/ Fuel Ratio gauge

    Air/ Fuel Ratio gauge

I've been having hesitation problems with my 86 325es. Under normal driving conditions, especially when my motor is cold, its hesitates between 2,000-2,300rpm. Now i know this a very common problem, but i was wonder what other people have done to try and correct this as well as get your input on what i am trying. What i have decided to do is install an air/fuel ratio gauge to get a read on what my car is doing during the problem rpm zone. If its determined that mycar is running to rich i will then get a feul presure regulator and adjust accordingly or if its running to lean i will crack open the top of my MAF sensor and crank the gate. If any body has a better idea or any input let me know. please.
