    Oil Service interval indicator lights

I had about 3200 miles on my oil and changed it the lights were down to three lighting up when I started the car. After I reset it it went back to 5. My question is should I ignore the lights & change the oil at 3k?

I'll try to explain... BMW has Service Intervals .. so if the car has an among of miles on his back.. the light appears...

I'll just go to my bmw station and reset it... :D

You also could do it on your own... You have to bridge the contacts 7 & 19 .. (for newer BMW's after 12/87) ..

it's supposed to calculate when you're supposed to change your oil based on your driving characteristics, speeds and mileage.. not sure how well it works though, I usually change my oil 2-3 times before it comes on.

It was 2 lights down (three greens still on) I jumpped 7 & 19 & it's back to 5 . I wanted to see if I was mistaken that it was supposed to be at red when it's time for the oc. I always change it as close to 3k as possible.

Thanks, I will continue to ignore it.
