I may be out of line here, but when an person who is actually in the BMW business expresses enough interest to actually post on our little board, a little consideration should be in order. But what do I know. Jim Conforti never responds to my emails *shrug*
He replied to my email. Who knows. :?:
Part of it probably is he sold the rights of his chips to TMS, so it's not really his business any longer.
Although Mark is not well known on this board is is very well regarded in the E34 community. I have one of his chips in my '94 525iA European Spec car, which by the way makes it as quick as a stock 535i E34. Ask me how I know! :) In nearly 12 months of using one of Mark's chips I have had no problems and a lot of pleasure. The idea that you could buy a chip for $50 is highly entertaining but unfortunately unrealistic. Mark's pricing is very attarctive especially compared to other high profile brands like Powerchip which are expensive and have a very mixed reputation.
So Mark has my vote and if you want to check him out just visit http://www.bmwe34.net/ and ask them what they think of Mark's products.
Well, depending when it arrives, and my progress on my speech outline due Wednesday, I could have a review ASAP.
Most likely finish up outline Tues night and put in chip during the 5 hours between classes during the day Wednesday......also when the sun will be up.

I agree completely but think we all deserve more consideration than many of the people give, there are way too many people here that type first and think later.
Damn, it just arrived while I was at Math.....got about 45 minutes until my chem lab.
What are you doing on here? You should be ripping that DME out! :P
Mark
I jogged to my car and had your chip in ~10 minutes. Just let the glovebox unhooked and shit and went for a drive.
Few quick words before I run off. I had about 10-15 minute drive, on some pretty decent straight highways like 500 yards from my appt. :D
At first, I did notice the *slightly* higher idle....but only because Jay mentioned it.
Anyway, first impression on the first strip was "my tach is running out sooner!"
Sure enough, the rpms climbed to redline much faster than with JC. Nice. (what is revlimit on your chips? 6800?)
Then.....I drove for a bit longer. It feel much faster everywhere, but especially those last couple thousand rpms. Like the JC versus stock was a smooth more powerful engine....but it seems like a different pony now. Not just smooth, but more push the higher you climb.
I am thinking about swapping the JC back in tommorrow (or Thursday as long as Brodee doesn't mind.....) and comparing.....and hopefully either use my friend's video camera or my shitty digi camera to show the difference in top end 'tug".
But it feels very much better. Whoa. Nice work.
Gotta run off to fucking Chem Lab, but had to let you know. Thanks.
Yes, it arrived a couple hours ago. First American with it. 8)
Second Gear Pull. I am wanting to go back to JC to compare, and get a clip of that too.....maybe borrow a building-mate's video camera with sound and have them ride shotty.
Maybe people cannot notice, but the needle travels to redline quicker than it did before.....very strange and fun new experience. Especially 5500+, it races past.
Yup, seems a lot of what you said matches what I noticed, even a few of the things I didn't type. And yeah the biggest change is when you're up there in revs, the newfound power is great. It actually feels like revving above 6000 is worth it. Also, hit up some of your favourite backroads or anything with tight corners. I'm finding it easier to balance the car with the throttle, there's more oomph on tap to get the back end out.

Hi Robert,
it look's like the chip is working for you. But it look's like the water temp hadn't got up to operating temp when you were testing, I assume that's because you just had a bit of time before the next class.
