    Short Shift Kits (yeah, again)

I know this topic has been beaten to death but I want dsome info I couldn't find by searching. I'm concerned that the Z4 3.0 shifter will be too hardcore for me and the Chicago traffic that I deal with. Can you guys tell me what to expect from the Z3 2.8 and Z4 2.5 shifters? Would I be fine with the Z4 3.0? I've never driven a car with an SSK so I don't know what to expect.

The Z4 3.0 is more than fine for any downtown traffic, the only time it gets difficult to shift is when trying to downshift under high rpm loads (you just have to muscle it in). But just driving around in traffic should be fine.
Here is my Z4 3.0 throw:

Have you checked the 4 page long thread in the fax section yet?

the z4 3.0 is so hot
at first it feels like you need alot of force but you quickly get used to it and its great

yeah, I read the entire FAQ's thing and I searched, I just wanted some clarification which I think I got. Right now I think I will go with the Z4 3.0 after all but any more info on the Z3 3.0 is welcome. I keep wondering why Rob decided to ditch his Z4 shifter for a Z3 one.

Rob sold his lever to me because a shorter lever doesn't always equal faster shifts. The Z3 1.9 or Z4 2.5 can probably go through the gears faster under heavy rpm loads than then z4 3.0. I love the Z4 3.0 though for just scootin' around town, I bought it because I wanted to be able to change gears with the flick of my wrist.

Read the thread in the FAQ section. There is a link above.
