    PROBLEM WITH MY 1983 E30 318i!!!!!!!!

my bmw is having problems. i had the head repaired about a year ago after it was cracked and now it is starting to overheat again. i have changed the thermostat the waterpump i have even changed the engine fan with a very good thermo fan. i have flushed out the radiator as well and it is still overheating. when i try do the timing the timing mark jumps around alot. i have just replaced the dizzy and still no improvement. the only mods to the engine are extractors and a cold air intake can anyone help me with this problem????

my friend had a problem kind of like this, his was just a miss-alignment of his temperature gauge. theres a thread on it somewhere here, try searching for "88 325i" and "overheating" by the poster "dc12k"

Is the car overheating or is the gauge? You could very likely have a bad temperature sending unit.

        more info is need.

Uh yeah. If your head is cracked, get another one.

            Where are you located?
