    jumping with a lower capacity booster battery?

    Hey E30 gurus - I need to jump my 89 325iC and both my booster batteries have a lower Ah rating than the Interstate Mega-Tron MTP-48 H6 in the E30 (Ah = 70).
    My manual says "the Ah of the booster battery should not be lower than that of the discharged battery, use of batteries of substantially different Ah rating may cause explosion/personal injury."
    The highest capacity booster battery I have access to right now is an ACDelco 124 RPS rated at 66 Ah. So clearly the word 'substantially' is open to interpretation.
    If I jump from the ACDelco is this going to cause me damage to the E30's electrical system?

    Can't you just leave the booster connected to your battery overnight to recharge it?

      Nope, it won't cause damage- it just might not work. It probably will. Attach it to the lugs under the hood for extra.... hoodiness, and less chance of explosion.

      Me, I use a battery charger, but I'm old.
