    More performance.

    Hello Members,

I bought from the original owner a 1984 BMW 325e (automatic transmission with overdrive) and 56,000 original miles. Besides having automatic transmission instead of manual, is there anything I can do to get more performance from the car. I have replaced the timing belt and everything that goes with it (all belts, timing belt tensioner, water pump, thermostat, all hoses etc... Also, I have done a complete tune up and have replaced the fuel filter and both fuel pumps, fuel rubber hoses (plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, coil, air filter etc... All fluids were replace: engine, transmission and rear end. Thank you.

Changing the diff ratio will be the biggest bang for the buck. A 3.73 diff ratio would really wake the car up. The cevat is higher RPM on the highway.

885 head/top end/ECU swap is also a good upgrade (albeit more involved). Thew eta was never meant to be "fast" as it is reliable and economic.

Thank you for your comments. This is my first BMW and I'm learning a lot. Especially what the "e" means on the 325e. :)

Use your torque to go fast, not your horsepowers, and the eta's not so terrible. Once you swap the transmission...
