    keep blowing fuses

    Hi guys.

I have some problems with my car that keep blowing fuses. its probably a damaged cable but i dont know where to start looking.

    The following problems i have:

Right tail light and license plate fuse blows immidiatly when i turn on the lights.
High beam both sides work for 5-10 seconds before blowing fuse.
I have also lost horn and instrument lighting.

This all came very sudden. Everything was fine when i started the car one morning. Drove down my street for 2-300 meters, and stopped to talk to a neighbour. When restarting all the fuses blew.

Where should i start to look?

Download wiring diagrams for your car http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/BMW...NG%20DIAGRAMS/

I would first inspect all visible wires that rub against the body. Then, I would check the wires near the tail and head lights.

Also, disconnect the negative wire from the battery and measure the amperage between the negative contact on the battery and the disconnected wire, set a multimeter to 10A.

One place where all those wires come together is right under the dash, near the steering column. Look under there for bare or chafed wires.
