To each his own.. if you knew the history behind Schnitzer and the German auto industry you might think differently. ACS doesn't need to build desire or brand recognition in their product and it is reflected in the ad. All the ad is doing is letting people know there are creative ways to finance the purchase of ACS products. It is simple and to the point the way an ad should be.
Also bear in mind that ad is for the UK market and is keeping in theme with my UK cycling magazines I read. It's about financing and getting expensive stuff into the hands of the overtaxed British publick. :)
IMO the wheels are definately not gaudy nor is any ACS part for that matter. They are period correct for the car...
Additonally all their stuff needs to meet TUV approval to be mounted on a German car. Here in the states we cend up with 24" wheels on an E46.. talk about gaudy.
