Good progress!
That really depends on the chassis I think, the early non air bag/ non abs have much less wiring and things in the way (compraing between 84 and 89 chassis for example).Leave a comment:

Got more parts today. Slotted Rotors, Front/Rear Pads, Front/Rear Bearings and some misc parts.

I also undercoated the undercarriage, wheel wells, trunk and rockers. I figured doing the rockers 360' was cheap insurance because its a common rust area for E30's and they will not be seen once the front/rear facia and side skirts are installed. It turned out better than I thought. Coating is going to dry and I will be installing the front and rear suspension at the end of the week!! I cannot wait. Its going to be awesome being that everything is new.

I am loving this build. If an LSx can be swapped into an E30 and get BAR'd & CARB ok'd, then it makes it all worth while. The smog laws in most counties in Calif make engine modifications for a street registered cars nearly impossible to do.
I eagerly await what bureaucrats' nod of approval.

Applied the Lizard skin Sound Control first as required. A two gallon container provided for 2 nice coats in the passenger cabin and the trunk walls. Sound control has to dry for 24 hours prior to the Ceramic Insulation coating, which will applied tomorrow.

curious about the lizard skin, always heard it was good but never knew anyone who actually used itLeave a comment:

Patching is all finished. Welds were ground down, sealed and the entire interior was scuffed down in preparation for coating the interior with lizard skins ceramic and sound control products.

Bottom will be prepared the same but coated with a bed liner product.Leave a comment:

My powder coater loves me. This is about 1/4th of what I have had coated. You can see the motor mounts and tranny mount from Garret's E30 LS1 kit. Fabrication is top notch.

.

Next is finishing up the patches and coating the inside and outside....Last edited by LSM3; 07-20-2012, 05:53 PM.Leave a comment:
