Question about an e30 m3.. need expert advice

    Hey guys,

Not sure if I can reach out to anyone that would know, but I have the opportunity to buy an e30 m3.. The front has been wrecked,, needs a new front radiator support and fender support (i.e. new front clip) and also, the engine needs to be gone through to see what needs to be done to get it running.. I think best case scenario I'm looking at a timing chain.. The car has a salvage title, and has many replacement panels (sideskirts, a door, has bondo on the widebodies and really everywhere I think..), and the rear wing is seperating from the trunk...

Question is, what it something like this worth? I don't wanna lowball the seller, but I also don't wanna overpay for it.. Any help would be appreciated :)
    Project e30 m3 starts now..... :D

Truth, but if I can get it for like $1000 or $500, it'd be well worth it.. I just don't wanna offer that and look like an ass if it's worth more :P

Depends on your goal for it. If you want to get it running but do not care at all about cosmetics, it might be worth $3,000 to you. If you would someday plan to fully restore it, PASS and find one without salvage title

Does it have the S14 or another engine? $1000 is what the engine is worth at a minimum. I doubt he would take that for the entire car. If it's already been salvaged prior to this accident, it sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I would definitely lowball in this case. Never know, he might just want to get rid of it but $1000 is wishful thinking.

Salvage title really hurts the value. If it had a clean title, it could be worth $3-4k. Also, keep in mind that the part out value of even that piece of crap is significant.

Excellent, I talk to her tomorrow.. Yes, its the original S14,,,
Its a nostalgic car for me, its my brother's that passed away.. The car is in his wifes name, but I just don't have a lot of extra money to throw at it right now, so I just wanted to see if getting it for like $1000 would be a good deal, and it seems it is.. My plans are to restore it how he would have done it so I'm excited about taking it on no matter how big of a project or headache it might be lol

If you can get it for $500 or $1000, you'd be dumb not to buy it.

You would do nothing but make money on it, if you choose to repair and flip it.

OR, repair it and keep it.

Or if it's too torn up, part it and make money.
