The radiator is plastic.
People tend to overtighten the hose clamps which is un-good.
1, the flanges get cracked.
2, the clamp cuts the hose.
3, the clamp strips its screw.
I recommend that you invest in a coolant system overhaul before you end up with a huge engine rebuild bill.

its not the hose clamps, theres no coolant flowing through the Thermostat, so I think its stuck closed.Comment

For an e30 m3? It's a one piece tstat and housing, you just drain the coolant and swap the entire thing. If its the plug and sensors in the body, then yes I have had trouble before removing them by hand. Impact drill removed them in seconds though.Originally posted by codyep3I hope to Christ you have looks going for you, because you sure as fuck don't have any intelligence.

so i replaced the thermostat and the sensors that plug into the housing. Bled the coolant and turned on the heater. Everything seems to work fine. No overheating, no coolant leak from the thermostat. Hopefully the gremlin doesnt show his head again. But shes old so we'll seeComment

SAMCO hoses or VAC house offering. They are reasonable and get the clamps. Do them all. You don't want to overheat an S14, you will be crying after that when you see how much a good head is going for these days.Comment

Yeah I just replaced the thermostat and two hoses as a quick fix just to get it drivable. It will get a complete cooling system and hose overhaul and anything else that's worn in the next 6 monthsComment
