Heres why I ask: E30 Groupie's style 5's are sick. I love the stance. I've found a cheap set locally and am considering getting them redrilled to 4x100. So...I'm wondering if I'll have to mess with spacers to get a similar stance.

Does an e30 m3 5 lug setup change offset compared to a regular e30 setup?

    thanks

I am running e30 m3 5 lug and am running in the et20-25 range depending on which wheels I use. So I would assume that it doesn't change the offset. I know if you run the e36 parts to do 5 lug you are limited to only et41 wheels unless huge fender rolling/stretching are done.

Your saying your going to do a fill & drill to 4 X 100 on the style 5's. Your not changing to a 5 lug so don't worry about the M3 offset. However, the E30M3 fenders are + .5" wider (meaning the E30 fenders are - .5" narrower). The 7" style 5's are et 41 (you will need spacers), the 8" are et 20 & the 9" are et 26. Both the 8" & 9" 98" front 9" back) fit fine depending on tire size. If you go a 235/40/17 your probably going to half to roll the fenders & remove the front brake rattle clips. A 225 or a 215 might be better if you don't want to roll.

If the style 5's are from a e39 (or any other wheels off of a e39 for that matter) will need hub reducing rings as well. The e39 hubs are 74.1

The wheels I'm looking at are from an e38. They are 16x8 et23. I know they'll fit (with a redrill)- but I want them to fit like they do on the cars with e30 m3 5-lug swaps.

Does an e30 m3 5-lug swap change the hub offset?

Whatever, I'm doin it and will space 'em if need be.

Do these wheels have the 57.1 centerbore?

            thanks for helpin ya'll

I'm doing the e30 m3 5 lug swap and I have the e38 16x8 weaves. They are 5x120 and the centerbore is 57.1. The only cars with the larger hubs are the e39s and the X5s from my memory.

I had to go from a 74.1 centerbore on the e39 wheels down to a 72.56 to run style 42's on my e30 m3 5 lug swap... So I would assume the e30 m3 is in not the same as the standard e30 hub size.

The offset is based on wheels not the suspension. In this case though, you'll be able to keep regular (20-30) offset wheels with e30 m3 suspension.

                      WRONG
Center bore is 72.56 on the 16x8 style 5's. You will have to get centering rings for 72.56-57.1

57.1 is only used on the 4 lug bmw bolt pattern, IE our e30s stock suspension.

I just read your PM too, e30 m3 suspension is out 5mm wider than standard e30's. So if you redrill (which you might want to look into the hole overlap to see if its possible or safe) you will be 5mm in closer to the body than I am. I am also rolled and cut on my fenders.

Are you referring to this setup I have?

In short, yes it does. To be exactly where I had those sitting, you would need a 5mm spacer.

Yeah, thats the setup I'm talking about. Its beautiful. so, the e38 centerbore is in fact 72.56 ?? thats shitty. Any thoughts on if the 4 x 100 redrill is feasible? or is it too close?

                          damnit!!!

Thats correct - he has also clarified they are the 16" one piece off the E38, not the 2 piece style 5's off the E39. I've put a 4 x 100 three piece center section on top of this particular wheel & it appears doable.
