    Teaser, 33416760056

    Just ordered Pn:33416760056 from dealer.

What will I do with it?

It goes partialy inside of Pn:33416762317 which has dimensions 42X75X37mm.

The part costs 57€ which is less than half of the price E30 M3 piece.

    *****************************************EDIT***** ************************************

I got this far at 2.18.2009

    And to the topic summary:
-The e87/e90 hub will work with e30 trailingarms.

-NOT bolt on, hub must be machined down few mm's "under" the cv-joint nut and you must use spacer between the hub and bearing.

-The swap will make splines between cv-joint and hub weaker, since the splines touch on each other on smaller area than original. Not a big difference, but might make difference in HiPo application.

-The spacer is 5,5mm thick and the other end must be radiused same way as the original bearing inner race is.

-The hub is machined down beacuse the cv-jonit stub would otherwise be too short and the nut wouldn't go deep enough.

-This setup would give you exactly same offset as original e30 4-lug hub.

-E30 e-brake still fits behind the hub.

-The spacer can't be between the rotor and hub without even more complex machining, since the rotor is hubcentric and the hub has fatter portition for disc centering.

    - The 300mm.de rear kit will be bolt on with this setup, the 300mm.de kit is just e46 328i rotors, calipers, and caliper adaptors(and centering rings that are not needed in this setup).

-If you have any machining abilities or you know a machinist(spelling? a person who works with e.g. a lathe) this options is cheaper than e30 m3 swap and z3 swap and with some patience with parts it can be cheaper than 318ti swap.

-E30 original ABS can be remained.

I will use this setup, if you wish to do this, think twice. I'm not claiming this to be ideal for anyone.

rear drive flange from a e90/e92?

How is that going to effect your offset compared to the e30 M3 drive flange??

It _should_ maintain stock e30(non M) offset, we'll see next week.

COOL please keep us informed!! I was getting close to ordering some new e30 M3 drive flanges for another build up and if this works for half the money I am for it!!

            What about the Axles/Outer CV's?
What do you use?? If they are no bigger than the E30 stuff then it's a pretty limited upgrade.

I thought you had E28 drive flanges with spacers in the E30 TA's?? Thus bigger CV's/Alxes.

No I don't, I have posted pictures of someone elses project car, and I have never claimed the to be mine.

The shaft bore in e90/e87 flange is exactly same as e30.

the splines are also the same?

Yes that's what I tried to say.

As 323ti said, not much of a upgrade to powertrain, but with e46 328i brakes maybe the cheapest 5 lug&bbk available.

Here you see 300mm.de 294*19mm kit, it uses redrilled e46 328i discs, which share the same e-brake size as e30.

Now, if I'd have a 5 lug hub, that has same offset as e30 4 lug hub this kit would bolt on to my car, or if I bought parts separately th redrilling would not be nessecary and those centering ring would not be needed.

Also this setup would give chance to use very wide e34/e32 wheels on rear, since the hub offset would be same as e30 4 lug.

                    Seems logical at this point.

How is this coming along for you?

Picked the flange from stealer today, my original e30 flanges are not at home right now, but it looks doable, the e87/e90 flage indeed fits to e30 bearing.

Somebody told me that the new hub would sit even 5mm closer to trailingarm than the original, we'll find out tonight.

6mm in fact. I think I must do something ghetto.
