I've had washers on my strut brace for over a year now on stock strut mounts.. they haven't broken yet. there is also plenty of thread for them to be torqued down correctly.
if moving the nut up higher affects it's strength, you're already doing so by adding a strut brace. a washer won't hurt anything.

I am not saying that they will break for sure. I was simply stating the reason why I wouldn't run it.
Adding a strut bar acts like adding a washer to some extent. Adding washers in addition to the strut bar is like adding multiple washers.
