    ABS sensor source?

does anyone have a decent source for the front ABS sensors? the oem part for the driver side has been unavailable for some time now, i've been trying to source it for a couple years. the passenger side seems to be still available, or at least was the last time i had a look.

my front abs sensors where shot. tossed some crap sensors on just as a stop gap and experiment. they'll defeat the abs light but the abs won't be functional even with the indicator light out. most times the abs light will eventually come on.

my local indie shop tells me even new oem sensors are garbage out of the box now. crank and cam sensors are just as bad. they blame china, claiming china has been providing inferior quality rare earth materials used in the mfgr of the sensors.

i'm not impressed with the brakes on the e30 in general. i've rebuilt the stock calipers on all 4 corners and am running pagid pads. the car will stop but i'm acutely aware i can over drive the braking ability pretty easily. presently i'm considering an abs delete at some point and possibly some sort of brake upgrade. it just seems expensive overkill for a street car.

SSF shows stock on genuine front abs sensors and also shows one part number for the front.

    200 bucks lol.

E30 brakes are good for parking lot driving. I've been eyeing a BBK cuz my god, the brakes suck when you push the car.

SSF? dunno the supplier. part numbers should be different side to side. the sensors have a specific mount that only allows install on each side individually. the strut won't accept them otherwise.

still an improvement, most i've seen are $300+, and still unavailable.

i can't understand how my m20 car with minimal modding can overdrive the brakes. i get it when guys are running s52 and s54 swaps, but the m20?
i guess i am looking at a future brake upgrade.

You're right, it is not ambidextrous.

SSF is a wholesale supplier, but they do in fact have a genuine front left in stock

If you want it I can order it to my shop and mail it your way.

I still have some stainless steel brake line that people say help the stock brake system, but I don't know if that's going to be enough for what I need

by the time i stop waffles waffles it'll be too late lol

gotta decide if i'm ditching abs altogether and putting together a brake upgrade. car will probably go for body and paint work before that happens now.
