does anyone have a decent source for the front ABS sensors? the oem part for the driver side has been unavailable for some time now, i've been trying to source it for a couple years. the passenger side seems to be still available, or at least was the last time i had a look.
my front abs sensors where shot. tossed some crap sensors on just as a stop gap and experiment. they'll defeat the abs light but the abs won't be functional even with the indicator light out. most times the abs light will eventually come on.
my local indie shop tells me even new oem sensors are garbage out of the box now. crank and cam sensors are just as bad. they blame china, claiming china has been providing inferior quality rare earth materials used in the mfgr of the sensors.
i'm not impressed with the brakes on the e30 in general. i've rebuilt the stock calipers on all 4 corners and am running pagid pads. the car will stop but i'm acutely aware i can over drive the braking ability pretty easily. presently i'm considering an abs delete at some point and possibly some sort of brake upgrade. it just seems expensive overkill for a street car.
