    Hawk HP+'s

Got them to fade pretty good and for the first time yesterday during a run threw the hills.... Yes i drive an ix which is a bit heavier but still, im kind of disappointed. Guess these might have been aimed more towards auto-x.

Properly bed them in, less than 500 miles on them, new super blue fluid, fresh rebuilt calipers, running ate premium rotors. Yes I herd they have a sharp cut off when they do fade but DAMN!!

Im thinking the oe pad didnt fad as quick as these did. I was driving hard though.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

Any pad will fade if used hard enough without sufficient cool down in between applications. HP+ pads have a higher Maximum Operating Temperature (MOT) than OE pads, but if abused they will fade.

Seeing the reference to hills makes me wonder if your technique might be part of the problem. One can reduce the likely hood of fade by harder braking for a shorter period of time. That results in more opportunity for the brakes to cool off. When going down a hill it is better to significantly over slow the car by hard braking and then allow it to coast back up to speed than to almost continuously use the brakes to maintain speed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

This. I haven't had a problem with my HP+'s at the track or in canyon drives by braking hard with longer cool-down periods. Change your technique and you should see a massive improvement.

I agree with Jim, I have HP+ and I have not had a single problem with them at auto-x or mountainy roads.

I had my Hawk's fad a bit at an autoX 2 years ago. it happens and not all the pads come out the same. Maybe you had a shity day of driving? Maybe it was just the pads.

The question is does this effect future use?
