Here's your chance to spend my money on brakes...

Alright, so I'm looking for a front brake setup for my ix and would like to know what I should go with, why, and where to get it. I appreciate the help in advance.

I think he is just talking pads and rotors.

      Am I right?

Speaking from experience here......try some ATE Powerdiscs for the front (if they're available for the iX) and some PBR MetalMaster pads. Cost-effective on the wallet and very effective on the road. I've had these for a while now and they work great.....even the occasional track day too. Flush your brake fluid with (at the very least) ATE SuperBlue as well.

Now if you're more concerned with just sticking to OEM stuff, get some stock rotors made by Balo....arguably the best quality stock rotor out there.

MHO- whatever stock rotors are cheap, axxis ultimates, or any similar street performance pad, good fluid, and SS lines, and you'll be more than happy.

However we dont know what you want to use the car for, which changes the recommendations drastically

I am kinda curious about what pros/cons OEM v. aftermarket rotors/pads are gonna be. This will help influence my decision.

So far my choice of the ATE pwrdsc/Axxis Ultimates, has been good. Do it.

                  Grant.

First off how are your brakelines and everything? and how much pad do you actually have left on the pads?

I run 100% OEM Pads/Rotors on my car and I can lock up the tires at 60mph with a brakestand (with abs disabled)

I like OEM because the price is right, and they just work, the stock e30 braking system is very well designed and will stop the car well.

What I would do.. check your brakelines, if they are worn, replace them with some stainless lines.. get some nice fluid in there (ATE Superblue is great)

I gotta do my pads and rotors too. Where is the cheapest place to pick up the OEM pads and rotors? BMA? I get 20% off everything I pick up from the dealer, so should I try them?
