Where to get a good poly diff mount?

Bimmerworld (powerflex) is out of stock, won't be in for 2-3 weeks, are the AKG ones any good? I have heard different things in my research, but nothing specifically about the diff mount.

I don't want the stock webbed one, because I am putting poly bushings everywhere (powerflex), and the solid rubber is like $100, while the poly one is $60, and doesn't need to be pressed in.

    Thanks guys!!

I know its not what you want, but I installed the mcoupe bushing, solid rubber and needs to be pressed but less noisy that the urethane ones. Just saying....but if I were to go urethane, AKG all the way. I have them for CAB and awesome, which I have Powerflex for my TA and were the worst thing to install, ended up having to press them in.

why wouldn't I want a urethane diff mount? just curious. I am new to this stuff. My issue w/ the solid rubber is that its $100 while the urethane is $60.

He was saying the MZ3 bushing isn't what you want, not that you don't want a poly bushing.

Additionally, ease of install is only one aspect of a bushing... stiffness, squeakiness, quality/longevity are what I'd be more interested in.

Urethane will make is more harsh. Just depends on what you want to do with the car.

Not sure where you are looking, but the mcoupe bushing is under $40 from tischer bmw dealership.

My car is a DD at the moment, But i am trying to "phase" it out of DD duty into being a track car, I do autocross regularly and I am doing BMWCCA driving school this summer, and hopefully many more track events to come through SCCA, and eventually a cheap E28 will be my DD.

And I guess the driving force for a urethane diff mount is that I already ordered PowerFlex poly subframe bushings and BMP Design RTABs.

So should I still get the $40 Z3M diff mount, or do AKG urethane?

            Thanks again guys.

If it were only be track, then go AKG. If you want to still enjoy some street driving, mcoupe. My $.02. More beneficial would be getting the mcoupe differ cover and stay with stock bushing but that is another topic.

But would the softness of the Mcoupe diff mount be bad coupled w/ the stiffness of the 70A powerflex subframe bushings that I will be installing?

the Mcoupe bushing is not soft at all, and it's definitely stiffer than a 70a bushing.

the AKG bushing is 75d and is basically solid.

Actually AKG also sells a 80A in addition to the 70D.

right but you were concerned about the Mcoupe diff bushing being softer than your 70a subframe bushings, when it's actually much stiffer. those 70a bushings are acutally kinda soft.

don't go with a soft urethane bushing on the diff either, it will tear itself to peices. been there, done that. Either go with something really hard (delrin, hard urethane, aluminum, etc) or something like the Mcoupe bushing.

probrem is, I ordered the 80A AKG diff mount... well, if/when it goes, i'll get the Mcoupe bushing.

I got Poly everything from AKG, including the differential mount. Go with akg, great quality, customer service, and reasonable price.
