    E30 M3 vs regular E30 subframe

    Are the mounting points of these two subframes the same? I thought I remembered reading that they were the same, but the M3 one was stronger.

    Someone please enlighten me. If it is stronger, I thought it would make a good base for the heavier S50 engine.

    it's not stronger. I'm not sure if the geometry is different. my guess is it's the same except for the exhaust mounting location.

      The same except some M3 front subframes came from with factory reinforcement under the motor mount tabs. You could buy these pieces from Turner or someone and have them welded in for the same effect.
