    Changing Front Hubs

Every time I go auto-x, the tech guy tells me that I should probably change my front left wheel bearings. According to him the passenger side one is fine. I'm just going to buy a new hub instead of dealing with pulling the bearing and what not. Do I have to do both at the same time, or can I just do the one that needs replacing? How long of a job is this for one side?

shouldn't be a problem, but that right side probably isn't far behind. if you are paying for the work to be done I'd just have them do both if you can.

As if you have a choice. That's how they come as one unit, hub, bearing and ABS toothed gear.

Just do the one that needs it. It's not the type of job where doing 2 saves you any time or money.

I'd say, if you've never done it before and it goes smoothly, about 2 hrs form start to finish. You could do it in an hour if you're fast.

Get a new dust sheild, grease cap and hub nut. The nut is 36mm. A regular 36mm socket will fit, you may have trouble with the thickness of a deep socket and it's not needed.
