        Yep, this man is correct. Caliper seals look like a simple square o ring but actually very specifically shaped.

        I had a fascinating discussion about disc brake caliper seals with a Brembo engineer 2 years ago. He was telling me about a new low drag caliper and a couple times during our conversation i was answered with "I'm not allowed to say anymore about that"

        Who would have thought they were so complex?

            I still think OP had a certain image of how brakes worked in his head which is not quite right. I will admit I was not aware of the spring seal though, cool stuff.
