I had a leak of brake fluid in my master cylinder and had that replaced saturday but I was still losing fluid over the weekened, nursing it back with more fluid till i could take it to the shop on monday. however I topped it off on monday afternoon and then went to get inside and found a puddle of brake fluid under my pedals. Needless to say I was pissed. Any ideas on what It could be?

The slave is inside the cabin, and that would probably be the source of your leak. That would be espically true if the master cylinder was on the way out to begin with. They like to die in pairs. The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.Comment

It's your clutch master cylinder that is dead. The brake master cylinder is mounted on the firewall in the engine bay. The clutch master cylinder is mounted on the pedal box in the interior. The clutch slave cylinder is on the tranny.Originally posted by hamann318isThe slave is inside the cabin, and that would probably be the source of your leak.
