Will Trailing Arm Brace Interfere w/ Fuel Filler Hose?

My car is completely apart, so I can't just mock this up and check it out myself.

I welded a transverse brace between the two "arms" of the rear trailing arm, much like the M Roadster/Coupe arms and the early E30 M3 DTM cars. The brace is about 2-3" aft of the RTABs.

The trailing arms are finished and painted up nicely and it struck me that I might have an issue with the passenger side trailing arm brace interfering with the rubber hose that joins the filler neck to the gas tank.

Anyone have this trouble before? Am I going to have to cut into my nicely refinished trailing arm and move the brace??

I wish I had a helpful picture, but if I did, I wouldn't be asking the question.

    Thanks.

This link should help answer your questions.

I'm guessing you'll probably need to redo them :(

Wow, I never thought about that one!

I don't think my old car had any issues with the M Coupe arms contacting the hose.

Thanks for the link, that helped. And yes, I absolutely have to redo the right side arm. Crap.

        Driver's side should be okay.

Honestly it looks like you're going to have the same problem on the passenger side. Mine look just like yours.

Jake on s14 , the linked thread, built them for me . We checked and it may rub but that's it he said only concern would be rubbing over time he said.

All you need to do is channel it where the hose is if you want

I did mine and they fit just fine. I will see if I can find pics.

Let me post a pic of mine and see what guys think...

Will these clear the fuel hose?

really the only way to tell is put it in and jack up the arm and see if it hits

Perhaps, but like I said, the car is in pieces. Can't do that right now.
