    EPA banned ATE Super Blue

I liked to alternate between the Super Blue and the Typ 200, as it was easy to see when the fluid was flushed due to the color change. Now the government has stepped in and made that not possible.

Thank you very little EPA bureaucrats.

Is bullshit. I've got a few cans of the stuff, it's nice to see the color change so you know when you've bled enough out. :(

I wish they would just solve the budget and leave the rest of this stuff alone.

      1) SuperBlue is annoying shit that stains the system and is incredibly irritating to clean out. Seeing the color change is pretty pointless as you can measure.
      2) Claiming that the EPA did this makes you look really dumb. It has NOTHING to do with the EPA.

Where did you get EPA from? The letter says nothing about the EPA and claims it is due solely to the color as all brake fluid needs to be clear or amber per US law for safety reasons.

I don't understand their logic on the colored fluid.
Can somebody give me a real world example?

From my understanding they think somebody is stupid enough to
think it's motor oil or something and use it?
Or the blue coloring itself is not safe to use in the brake system?

Sounds like some people are too stupid to read labels and might put the wrong fluid in the wrong spot, really not surprising some people are that stupid.

LOL and thats exactly what a customer did to his land rover just last week at the shop put in some ATF in the brake fluid CLASSIC

So in a sense I guess color wont make any difference what so ever some people are just clueless and dont know how to read.

ATE Gold + blue food coloring = same?

Seriously though. Flush your system a few times and you'll get an idea of how much you'll need to flush. I go through a little less than a liter after a full flush. That includes topping off the system. I will agree that the blue color made it easy to tell when you've bled enough, but anyone who has flushed enough ATE blue through clear bleeder hoses can attest to the fact after a few times, the blue fluid stains the hoses and you can't tell anyway.

Ill stick to ATE Gold. Its still great stuff and its not going anywhere.

Well shoot me then you bastards. FMVSS, not EPA. Too many acronyms. The point is, it's a ridiculous government recall.

Still possible... still available. The bottle says for off road use only. That is the loop hole.
