No fluid from caliper when bleeding

Is this the first time your bleeding the brakes on this car? If so, the calipers themselves may be full of crud. If you loosen the brake line to the caliper and get fluid then the issue is your caliper. I had the same problem. Removed caliper and disasembled and the fluid inside looked like chocolate syrup. If you get no fluid at the caliper hose move to the next joint forward till you get fluid.

most likely there is a problem with the abs pump. i had this happen with one of the e30's i had. no matter what, i couldn't get fluid out of the rears when i bled the brakes. i changed the abs pump and bingo!

Rubber hoses can constrict shut internally.

Wow- E30's are getting 2002-esque problems.
That means I am getting old.

How did you vacuum without the bleeder fitting?

Start loosening each fitting in the system starting at the caliper. The component towards the caliper from the first fitting that pushes fluid with pedal pressure is probably the culprit.

that ^ something is blocking fluid. check lines for pinched hose. take the bleeder screw completely out to see if fluid comes out, if not its the brake line running to it.

Replace the bleeding "screw" or check that it isn't blocked by dirt/rust. Push a mig wire or something through it. Brake hose might be "swollen"/damaged or brake line bent etc. Hope this helps.

So I'll loosen the bleeder and nothing comes out. I've used vacuum & had someone step on the brake....kinda stumped, I've bleed most my cars and never had this happen
