    Thinking of going boosterless

I have a ix and want to relocate or remove the booster all together . I just want to know how much harder is it to stop these cars when you remove the booster. Is it worth it at all or should I just leave it or if there is a thinner booster I could use that would be even better.

The reason I'm asking is cause I will be having a custom intake manifold made for the car ( because racecar haha). And with the booster there, there is no way in hell an intake is going to fit.

    Please let me know.

turn off the car while rolling down hill and pump the brake a few times until it gets hard... you will have your answer.

I have installed Lee's (Massive Brakes) booster delete kit on a customers' car to clear some ITB's. It's not all that bad with the changed pedal ratio. Slightly firmer pedal than stock, but no issues stopping.

That's not how it works, at all.

I have the Massive booster delete as well. The trick is getting a master cylinder that gives you the feel you want. I've just installed a Porsche 914 19mm master and have high hopes for it. I'll be testing it this weekend at the track and will report back, but initial driveway testing puts it as the best of the other three master's I've tried.

Is it not? Without vac assist and the factory setup? If you don't change the mechanical advantage either hydraulically or via leverage, won't it be the same force that is required? Or does the brake booster add some sort of significant mechanical resistance that I'm not aware of?

why would you go manual and NOT change the mechanical leverage..

So the 914 19mm master is awesome. I never once felt like I was on manual brakes and lacking in braking power. It bolts directly to the Massive booster delete plate and is a dual circuit master.

Is that with stock brakes otherwise? I thought I remembered a post from you saying you had a big brake kit, and I am wondering if this would work for my stock brakes.

UUC's BBK, which they say is very close in piston volume size to stock.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I am using a 5/8" Volvo step-bore m/c now with stock brakes but not completely happy with it. It's much better than the e30 m/c was, though.
