    Subframe damage, HELP

Previous owner of my poor e30 stripped the threads for the subframe bolts and instead of fixing it, he booger welded it to the frame. Long story short hit a gnarly dip in the road and the weld gave. How do i even go about fixing this?

Drop subframe, grind off booger welds and paint, Helicoil the hole for a new bolt.

It looks like there may not be enough good metal to hold a helicoil. I'd grind off that crud and check.

If there's rot, you'll need to replace the metal. This should be pretty easy for any reputable body shop.
