is there such thing as an e30 x-brace, like those commonly sold for e36's? I heard once that they came on the cabrios, but i have also heard there is no such thing. If they are out there, i thought it might be a good way to help stiffen up the chassis.

Yes, it does. It also requires a fudge factor since you are making newer E36 parts fit on an older E30.My 2.9L Build!

but an E36 x-brace doesn't go under the oil pan in an E30. E30 oil pans are in front of the subframe. My 2.9L Build!

If memory serves, it was a tight fit, took some trimming and a few holes drilled in the floor pan/tranny hump.
BTW - I get really annoyed when people call it (pronounce it) a "X-brace" like it some f-ing starwars product...It's Called a "Cross-brace"...
Shorthand for typing a description is "x-brace" to make room.
I can spot a newbi a mile away when they ask about the "x"-brace...
So X-brace in an email = good - calling it a "X-brace" out loud = bad...
Questions? HTH..
Good...move on..Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?
