i was wondering if that bracket would work for fc calipers too? i have a spare set of 89 rx7 calipers just laying around and this would be a great upgrade

Yes they will work. FC and FD calipers share the same mounting dimensions, as well as piston sizes.

Looks like you put a lot of time into it. Good job. Is it fully functional on both sides yet?

Yeah I didn't want to get this one wrong... with the engine swap, provided I respected gasoline, the worst thing that was going to happen is deadstick in the middle of a lapping day and some embarrassment. If my brakes fail at the end of the back straight on Mt Tremblant at full tilt, it's my ass.

Not yet. Before I mount everything for the final time I need to get 2 pairs of bolts circumcised. I'm using the OE caliper bracket->strut bolts, but for the inner pair they're too long by 3mm (need to be 27, they're the ideal length for the outer pair [caliper to bracket]), jamming into the rotor. I have them shimmed with a washer right now but there's no way I'm using a washer under bolts like this.

I can vouch for this, I have a friend's FC calipers here too, the geometry is identical.

Thanks for the info! Are you or anyone else doing anything with the rear brakes?

Some more info. Pic of the spacer that did the trick for clearance (3mil) and a shot of all calipers (top to bottom: FC, FD, Girling, ATE)

Nein, it was a favor to my dad to get these done as is, I was afraid they'd refuse to mod them for the cutouts but they were cool with it. The drawing's there though, should be easy to make a pair for yourself in the UW shop. Just remember to mock up a cardboard one first if you have ABS, I don't guarantee that it'll clear the sensor.

Man, I never thought about getting a second set of FD brakes for the 30. This is on my to do list. Fd brakes are fairly cheap too.
