H compound for track only. Unless you want to slightly grind your rotors day after day... ;-)... I tested the H pads on my daily driven M3. They do score rotors with time. But damn do they stop you...

H pads will have way more grab than HT10 on the track. Dust is minimal and non-corrosive. Pad is super smooth on disc if used at the track. Did I mention the pad is very long lasting. It cost $195usd for the superlite caliper and $105usd for the Dynapro, but it becomes economical as it lasts longer than a softer pad.

I think the H's are more degrading than the HT10s on the street. But not on the track.

My solution, when I go to my local track, is to not use the brakes on the way there.:)

Nice shots. But be aware that you have installed the rotors in the wrong direction. The cooling vanes scoop air from the inside toward the outside, while the slots push the pad down. ;-)

BTW - KNowing that the backface of the Schnitzer wheel is almost flat ( and perhaps the wheel that's the most difficult one to fit, I think you managed to properly accomplish quite a challenge. Your wheels are probably et25, and adding a 6mm spacer makes them et19mm. Which is not far from the et20 that most people will find as ideal. Good job Tom.

Good news, bad news, and more bad news.

I installed my front and rear race kits about 2 weeks ago. First off, let me thank Lee and state that I can easily recommend his products to anyone. The fit and finish of the conversion parts are top notch, and the engineering makes me appreciate the amount of thought that he put into the kit. One thing I noticed was that the rear brackets are actually cut so that they spread the rotational forces into the control arm at the hub. Details like that made me happy I spent the money for his products.

OK, enough ass kissing! :) Wheel fit is an issue with the race kits as we know. I wanted to stay with 15" wheels for a couple of reasons. I had mocked up my current wheels with the template, and I knew they were going to be close. The good news is that the template is very accurate, and Kazera KZ-M wheels fit without spacers and without trimming the ends of the calipers, although the tips are very close (around 1mm). I will trim the tips slightly before I take the car on track, but so far in street use they have been fine. I had to relocate the wheel weights to get clearance, they are now on the centerline of the wheel and the balance is fine.



The bad news, of course, is that the Kazera's are no longer available. So if you plan on running the race kit and 15x7's are OK, then you better start looking for a used set.

The other bad news is that I mocked up the kit with the new Enkei PF-01 wheel in the 15x8 size. These are new wheels that Enkei advertises as having "enhanced brake clearance". The spokes have a ton of clearance, unfortunately the barrels do not. They are 35 offset, I tried them with a total of 21 mm of spacers and the clearance just wasn't there. They were very tight at the tips (hitting, actually) and the bleeder was unacceptably close also, due to the design of the lip. I was pretty disappointed in this, as I really like these wheels.



I'm now waiting for 949 racing's XTR wheels, I emailed Emilio a copy of the template and let him know that if there was clearance in the 8" et20, he'd have a pretty good market for that size. Here's hoping. Cheades has also mentioned that the TR 15x8's fit in the front with an 8mm spacer.

The last picture is hard to see, I was trying to show that the spoke clearance is very good. The rears are even better, but the barrel clearance is also very tight. The drop section on the Kazera's is very straight, so spacers don't make much difference in tip clearance.

So there you go, a couple more data points to go by.

So am i SOL trying to get a sport kit to fit under my TRM c1's in a 15x8? Or can they be modified to fit?

The Sport kit fits TRM 8" wheels if you slightly grind the tips of the calipers.

Got some pictures from a client in the Netherland, Ron Verheijen. He was running 17" wheels with his e30 front and rear Race kits (300x32mm). He decided to use lighter and smaller wheels. I suggested Team Dynamic's 2.0 rims in 15"x7" et25 specs as they only need a 3mm spacer, and just for safety of mind. They fit without. Just to increase the track for racing, the owner fitted 15mm front spacers.

It's amazing how flat the riminside is, our previous 17" Decent (heavy!) gave the impression that 15" would never fit.
