Mechanic quote for shocks and struts

89 E30 105k miles. Needs new shocks and struts . mechanic is quoting $1400 with labor. Is that about right?

Damn. Super easy on a e30. You don't have a knowledgeable friend who works on cars? The e30 is real easy to work on. The rears just 3 bolts each side and the strut comes out, a little fiddling around with the jack to raise the arms up and done. Maybe you'd like to pocket that money and diy if you feel comfortable or find a local e30 guy and maybe he will help you.

What shock and struts? All the mounts will be due also..
