H&R lowering springs need to settle? M3 LCABs

    Hi fantastic community,

I finished putting on a set of H&R 50407 sport springs (on the front; rears this weekend). The specs say will lower the fronts 1.3" (35mm?) and rears .75" (19mm?). After an initial drive around town, my before and after measurements are exactly the same! I expect that they will settle in, but is 1.3" a lot to expect?

Also, I swapped the lower control arm bushings for m3 offset ones when I replaced the lower control arms. The difference is there, but subtle. Steering is not appreciably heavier, but return to center is more positive. It was by far the hardest part of the job. I should have made a press tool to get them on. Do yourself a favor and get a couple of angle irons and some threaded rods and do it the easy way.

I did change the shocks. From what I have read, strut inserts DO settle, but springs shouldn't other than seating into the rubber inserts. Experiences?

Convertible springs? that is not a significant drop, give it time and it should settle a bit.

Right, no drop, in fact. Down to the millimeter exactly the same before and after.

Possible the springs you removed were not original?

Give it a week's worth of driving and see if it drops at all.
