I called them "theoretically adjustable." No way in HELL I'm pulling struts and compressing springs just to try another quarter turn adjustment.

A bit late to the party but the yellows speced for the cabrio are not externally adjustable...which means removing the strut assembly to adjust. If it's not too late get the fronts for the sedan. The difference in valving is negligible and at least you can adjust them externally

I ordered a set of Koni Yellows. They were $180 more than a set of B4's and they, of course, are adjustable and can take lowering springs in the future.

Bilstein HD and B6 are the same thing. I'm happy with the Sachs OE replacements on my cabrio.

I've had good luck with Koni Yellows in the past, so I may try them. The Koni STR-T shocks have mixed reviews. I won't cry if I have to run Sachs or Bilstein B4's.

Anyone running the Bilstein B12/Eibach spring combo?

mine came with kyb's on the back which i believe are stock. the fronts had been replaced but not the back. i went with b6 billies on all 4 corners when i did the suspension, in combination with some h&r's. there is a small drop. i have the coupe.

i caught a good price for a kit on rock auto of all places. just something to check when you decide what you are doing.

edit : verts use a different combo from the other cars so keep it in mind

I believe Sachs is the OEM for these for BMW. Assuming you need 33521132123, RMEuropean has them in stock for $63 each. I tried B6 once and after a few months sold them and tried these, I much preferred the smoother ride.

Hey, I realize this has probably been done to death, but I wanted to get a more current answer than the archives could provide. I have my suspension apart to replace control arms and I noticed one of the rear shocks is leaking, so they're getting replaced, too. I'm not planning on lowering the car, but I always tend to go for "OEM-plus" whenever I need to replace something, so I'm wondering which shocks/struts would provide an increase in performance without beating me up. I want to retain the ride-height because I drive on dirt roads, carry passengers, etc., but I would like a slightly firmer handling than stock.

I've had Bilstein HD's on other cars in the past and found them unlivable for a daily driver. Are the B6's livable on an e30, or should I just stick with the B4's? Koni adjustable could be an option, but only if they're adjustable while in the car in this application.
