Any rack for airbag car that doesn't require cutting?

Hello! I've got a 91 with fairly low miles thats all original, I don't want to cut the firewall up, but it needs a new rack. Is there any BMW rack that can pretty much bolt in to a airbag car? Maybe the 95 or 96+ m3 racks?

If not, anyone know how hard it is to rebuild the factory rack?

    Thanks!

    Rebuild instructions are here: https://classicbimmerbits.com/e30-ho...-rack-rebuild/

There are local companies that can rebuild racks, especially, if you bring a rebuild kit.

But there was one highly-praised online company that didn't deliver.

to the best of my knowledge the only direct bolt in with no modification is the original e30 rack. they aren't that hard to rebuild but it is a messy job.

In Jordan's M54 build, he looks to have done custom linkage, which maybe meant he didn't have to cut the firewall on an airbag car? Otherwise several places sell the template so you can cleanly trim the firewall opening and still keep it sealed. I get not wanting to cut up the car (I had the same debate on my airbag car), but an e36 or e46 rack makes driving an e30 day to day so much nicer. Another option I've tried before is the e30 M3 rack in a previous car as a plug-n-play option, but it was barely noticeable over the standard e30 rack.
