    GC + MCS Coillovers On the Vert

    Suspension is done! (Well, almost)

    To this point, I’ve just been focusing on basic maintenance to OEM standards: brakes, bushings, hardware…but decided I wanted a little bit more. I settled on the Ground Control + Motion Control Suspension Single Adjustable coilovers.

    Rear was simple. I’m very happy with how snugly the adjusters fit in the trailing arms.

      Fronts came together fine, but even with the adjusters all of the way at the top of the threads, the spring falls a few inches below the upper seat at full droop.

        Here’s the before and after, adjusters all of the way at the top on all four corners. The rear is about an inch lower, and the front almost 3 inches (!) lower.

          I’m going to need to address the front height. With the collars all of the way up on the strut housing, I don’t have any adjustability. I’m not sure if I just need longer springs or if a tender spring might be able to fill in some of the extra space.

            Ground Control hooked me up with no cost exchange for 8” springs. Ride height/ adjustability range looks much better. Took it for drive around the block. Steering feels sluggish, so an alignment’s in order.

ID:	10142766 First highway trip. Such a good ride. All the bounce from the Stock suspension is gone, but it’s not a harsh ride at all. A good balance overall between responsiveness and holding a good line. I want to try to play with the damper adjustment, but I’m afraid I’ll only make it worse.

                          I forget how good bottlecaps can look. Perfect stance too! What are the measurements now from the ground to fender for front and rear?

                            Coming in just under 3000# thats good... this is a 318 though, right?
