There is a GB going for these now and I'm considering putting these on my E30 M3. Right now I've got Bilstein Sports & HR Sports. They have the E30 M3 kit and it's also $325. Anybody running these with Bilsteins? If so, whatcha think?

There is a link in the first post of the thread to more info. Sounds pretty cool.

The general consensus is that the Bilsteins do not offer enough rebound dampening and also suffer from lack of travel, the front bottoms out. Most recommend getting Konis.

wow 325 seems like a good deal. Maybe I'll have to jump on these.

I have the Bilsteins as well though, but I guess I could get Konis later if needed.

what spring rate would you guys recommend for a daily driver?

              Not for that price.

Normal price is $400 for springs and adjusters.

The sale (group buy) price only reflect their "street" coil-over kits with rates from 300 to 525....these are definately more street oriented rates. I know a couple E30-ers who track their GC-equipped cars and they are running 400-450 in front and up to 650 in back. Talk to the guys at GC and let them know what you have in mind. They do a good job of coming up with combos that work.

I have 300F 475R, doesn't get much softer (in fact never seen softer than 300F on an E30 with GC's), but it's still very stiff. To put things in perspective, H&R Sports are 190lb/in in the front.

                  I'd say copy mine.

thanks for the tips. Do you know what the rate is for the rear H&R Sports? Im a real newb. Why is the back so much stiffer in the back, shouldnt it be the opposite?

Oh and also, the springs are universal for 318s and 325s right? So since you are running 300/475, it would technically be a lot stiffer on my 318?

The rear H&R Sports are 334lb/in or something close. It's stiffer in the back because the spring is actually inboard, so it moves less than the front one. Your car is lighter than mine, but not by that much. The 300lb/in front will feel effectively stiffer, but without going back and forth between cars you wouldn't notice. Keep in mind there's guys like Aaron running 450lb/in in the front of an M42 car. :o

yah i tried looking as well, but with no luck :S

and Mystical, thanks for your help. I think tomorrow if I get a chance, I'll call GC and ask them what they think.

do you think that I should get their rear shock mounts as well (Im runnin stock right now), and also are sturt gland nuts necessary?
