    KYB Shocks?

I just helped my friend install some KYB shocks/struts in his car, and for the most part its a nice ride. He said the price was pretty good too, like under 300 for all 4. Is anybody on the boards running KYBs?

I am. They're alright for the price...
if I had it all to do over again, I would have spent the extra on bilsteins though.

        Front GR2...$70/pr
Rear Gas Adjust (nice condition, junkyard) $5/pr
        B+G Springs, $170/set

A bit soft for some tastes, but I do hundreds of highwway miles each month, and I really like them.

hmm, i think i might go ahead and try these then. My first set of shocks were tokicos, and i dont particulary like them, a bit soft and bouncy up front. Hopefully these will be a bit stiffer.

Where do people get their KYB Shocks from? (Any particular online store?)

I've been looking for either 1. Used bilsteins or 2. A cheap but... relatively good shocks to go with H&R Sports most likely (doesn't have to be super stiff, but can withstand the conditions from the H&R's)

Would KYB's be the next best kind of shocks compared to the other lesser-known shocks? (FK, Tokico (sp?), those kinds of brands, the cheaper ones)

              Don't buy used shocks.

Budget, I would have gone Boge TS as they are OEM. They are great for the price, IMO better than KYB's.

So the Boge TS will be a better match with the H&R Sports compared to the KYB's?

I've been looking on BMA for a while at the kinds of shocks they carry, and the only Boge shock I found was part number BM018122... Can someone lead me into the right direction and say if this is the correct shock? I don't know if this is the TS or not, it doesn't really say on the website.

Call them. I plan on using stock rear springs and a pair of Eibach in front on the cabrio.

No, Boge's would be terrible with H&R Sports. Way too soft.

Why not be sure, save for an extra paycheck, and buy Bilsteins? Cheaping out now will only lead to having to re-do everything in the future.

i had a friend in highschool who had kyb adjustables (5-way i think) and even though i couldnt tell a huge difference in damping between full soft and full firm as a passenger, the overall ride was nice and stiff. another plus is that all 4 shocks can be adjusted with ease; the fronts adjust like koni's except they use a different tool, and i think the rears just have a dial at the bottom of the shock. (i could be wrong about the rears, but i know they can be adjusted in a fraction of the time it takes to adjust standard koni SA's)
