    how to bleed power steering...?

call me crazy...but it seems like some air has got into my p/s system after doing my e-i swap. during the swap my power steering resevoir was pointed to the ground...and started leaking from its cap..i believe this is how the air got in the system. so i removed the cap and turned it lock to lock a bunch of times and saw air bubble coming to the top (in the resevoir) and then the fluid started to aerate (foamy bubble fluid). after continuously bleeding it (in the way which i thought was right) i still have this whining coming from the power steering

...ergh....what a pita...is there something i am doing wrong? maybe my pump is now done? it worked find before the swap now this...also i know when i removed the pump before i loosened some of the bolts on the pump trying to get her loose from the block...so the pump started leaking a little until i tightned the bolts back up. it still drips a little...maybe i fubared the pump...maybe im just so frustrated with it i am overlooking something simple..

    any input would be nice

Fill up resevoir, leave cap off, turn on car, and turn wheel lock to lock a few times. Dont know of another way. Repeat if necessary.

After going lock to lock a few times, almost all of the air should have been forced out. Does it feel any different when you are turning it, or does it just make noise?

hey if you have bleed it that much and your still getting air bubbles i would say its time to rebuild your p/s pump.....

I lifted the front end of the car,ran engine, turn wheel many times lock to lock till it stopped making noise..then took it for a drive.works great...amazing how this swap turned out,all the issues I THOUGHT i would have ie; PS/CLUTCH/TRANS work fine and the issues I tought i had under control are the ones biting my ass ie; OVERHEATING/coolant gauge/etc

                  yea!
