    Bilstein/ GC

I am about to order the ground control spring set and was wondering if they would pair well with bilstein sports?

Just don't expect to be slammed. The Bilsteins will bottom out after awhile. You can cut the bumpstop and get GC plates to gain more room though.

It all depends on how much you want to spend, how low you want to go, and how much work you want to put into it.

              Yes.

You will be able to go lower, more comfortably and with damping setup to be low on an E30. Not to mention camber plates are nice to have.

Shortened housings with camber plates will allow you to go even lower than that if you desire.

I have GCs with plates and bilstein sports. The ride is amazing, I think its the ultimate dd coilover config.

You can drop atleast 2 inches with the ground controls/bilsteins alone.

I think I'll do that for my DD and save the gc kit for my track car

I run the GC on Bilsteins just because my 5 lug front came with fresh Bilstein struts. i agree it rides great.

What rates are you guys running with your bilsteins? and did you cut the bumpstops or just leave them?

Can you run shortened housings with bilstein sports? Ive done Ground Controls before and have no problems shortening the housing again, I just don't know how much is safe to take off with Bilstein sports, last time I had short konis in the front so I had room to take as much as I wanted to. This time I'm trying to do a budget setup.

Im running 600fr and 750rr with bilstein sports all around. I cut the front bumpstops and dropped it even more.

bilsteins are designed for factory housing so the answer is no, you cant run them in shortened housings. Once you cut the housings you will need shorter struts and spacers for the housings.
