Just want to prevent the constant spread of misinformation so prevalent on the internetz.

    you got me on that.

but if you guys dont like the setup, go with the GC combo. im not trying to push these on anyone, im just trying out a new setup and giving my honesst review.

and yes, im constantly listening for any loud snap/pops/creaks. welding to cast is no joke, and neither is cutting the tube by so much.

leave that for the machine shop guys

I've never met a machinist that would have done that.

That alone should tell you what a terrible idea this is. To me at least, there is no way it is worth saving money in return for putting my life at risk with a suspension setup like this.. Really hope it doesn't break on you.

AST cuts off the tube and welds on a new one too.

If you have a certified welder to do it, it is a non-issue. However that does add to the cost of the kit and should be noted. Can you send off a spindle and have it modified by them?

I was going to mention it earlier :) The advantages in the bigger shock cartridge and the adjustable height without compromising suspension travel are big wins.

There is nothing wrong with the kit, it is just that bit harder for the DIY'er to do. If you got the skills/equipment you can save on the labour rates from the factory and do the work yourself.

Now we have to wait and see how long the shock itself will last, this is the only issue I have ever heard of with the cheaper coilovers (not sure BC Racing fall into this catergory though).

Buddy Club's mid-level (Racing Spec) coilovers are actually very good units and not "poop crap" like you say. They also have separate perches for spring and ride height adjustment, and feature inverted, lightweight dampers. They're good quality bits of gear that I'd rate with entry level Bilstein coilovers.

BC just copies other units out in the marketplace, minimal R&D is done as the other manufacturers have done it all for them.

i swore by my bc's in my gc8. that car got put through its paces also, so for me to not find something to complain about with the suspension was nice.

bc > D2/megan racing. struts should be fine for quite some time, i'd put my money on them lasting as long as a set of billys

what set up are you running? Did you see a shock dyno reading on yours before you purchased them? ....I doubt it.

running koni yellows. They have the shock dynos on their site and ive seen independent graphs that corroborate. Yes I did look at them before I bought.

                            Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

                                I have a new question :)

What size springs are these designed to work with? The ID is it 60mm, 2.5" or 65mm? or some odd size?

Would I be able to even get a 60mm over the adjustable threads if I modified the other stuff to suit?
