Best GC Spring rate for DD

    What do you guys think?

    #2
I think people tend to go too soft, when what you need to be is stiff enough for a given ride height, and have good damping.

      I run 375/500 on my GC/Bilstein setup.

This is my current ride height:

I'm running 600F/700R, super stiff, but soft enough for me. Awesome track set-up though

But for a DD, it all depends on you, your always welcome to take a ride in my e30 and see how stiff it is, but I'm not sure the next time I'll be up in LB.

375 Front, 600 Rear. Very hard in my opinion, maybe too stiff for a DD but handles great.

It's all about personal preference. I'm running 450/600 and UUC swaybars (22/19mm) and I like it a lot. To me it's a good balance betweeen ride and responsiveness; coupled with the swaybars I get very little body roll, but it IS a pretty firm ride--if you're used to a cadillac you won't be very impressed with the ride. If you're used to driving cars with modified suspensions, you'll be happier with it.

                Bilstein sports
                440/650 springs
                GC plates

                ST sways 19/22
                All Powerflex street bushings
Its stiff, has no roll but isnt punishing. You feel every little bump but it has so much control and feedback that its worth it.

550front/675rear. not stiff enough where you can't DD it.

Have you considered you might be too soft and are actually bottoming out the shocks?

Fronts are a little soft for my taste, but it is definitely streetable and this is on shitty providence/new england roads.

                            I don't have GC's but I'm running 450#front/675#rear. Everything else is stock.
The car handles great, but if I could choose again, I might go a little higher. The shitty roads in my area make me want stiffer springs so my tire wouldn't hit my fender as much.

I've personally pushed down and up and it's clearly damping very well where I wouldn't see problems.
