pushing it up and down by hand doesn't mean anything. further, if it's soft enough that you can significantly compress it by hand, then it's definitely easier to bottom it out. damping doesn't have anything to do with it.

Then I said that statement pretty wrong.

I did indeed push it up and down, it was very stiff, but had obvious shock travel.
Does that make more sense, or am I still kind of off?

He has short bodies from what I remember as well.

how do you know it has shock travel when you hit a bump at speed? there's no way you can tell that unless you weigh 500lbs+ :p

consider this - it only takes 375lbs to compress that spring 1". the guys running 700#+ springs, take nearly twice as much force to compress their spring 1". If they hit a bump that compresses their spring 1", it's going to compress his 2". if theirs compresses 2", his will compress almost 4".. you run out of travel real quick like that. don't forget there are bump stops involved. :)

Haha, for the first part, yes you're right. I guess I was just going by the assumption that he wasn't "sitting" on bumpstops and that the fact that I was able to compress meant he has shock travel, but yes, you are right when you say he can STILL bottom out. Hope I made sense right there lol.

And the second part of your reply cleared things up pretty good, thanks!

Don't forget shocks play a big role in how comfortable or crappy your ride is.

barrel GC springs. just bilstein sports up front and blown boge in the rear. i like it for daily driving but potholes blow. i feel most bumps in the road but id rather deal with it and know my shit won't bounce like soft springs.

I bet it bounces on blown boge shocks though lol

you must have fun putting the power to the ground lol. at least your braking should still be reasonable though seeing as the front does most of the work on our cars anyway
